The Fourth Bridge

Many of my favorite places to photograph are the small town forests and other open conservation lands that dot the map of New England.  Visiting a favorite location multiple times throughout the year poses a challenge to see familiar things differently.  Photographing the forest paths has been a recent project of mine, and has expanded to capturing these small footbridges that allow dry crossing over the small waterways or wetland areas that feed the main brooks and streams.

This image came from the Tucker Brook Town Forest in Milford, NH, which is one of my favorite southern New Hampshire locations because it is so rich in beauty and offers so many photographic opportunities.  The negative was exposed in early January of 2010 after a fresh coating of snow that was not so thick as to hide the still pristine trail.
